Terms of Service

He Hears is a free companion for reading and reflecting on the Bible. Its responses are generated by an AI and can be wrong. It is not a pastor, not a therapist, not a doctor, and not an emergency service. Please read the sections on AI-generated content and on emergencies — they matter more than the rest.
What He Hears is
He Hears offers spiritual encouragement grounded in Scripture. It lets you read and search the Bible, save verses, follow reading plans, and talk with an AI companion that answers with reference to the Bible.
It is offered free, as it is, in the hope that it is a comfort to someone.
Its answers are written by an AI
The companion is a computer program built on a large language model. It is not a person, not a member of clergy, and not a channel for divine communication. Nothing it writes is a message from God, a prophecy, or personal revelation.
AI models make mistakes. This one can misread your question, explain a passage in a way many Christians would disagree with, apply a verse poorly to your situation, or state something with confidence that is simply wrong. It is instructed to quote Scripture accurately from this app's own Bible database, but no safeguard is perfect.
Please read the Bible for yourself, and weigh what the companion says against it. Where something matters, bring it to your pastor, your church, or Christians you trust. Treat this as a thoughtful friend who knows the text well and is sometimes mistaken — not as an authority.
It is not professional care
He Hears is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, or financial advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not counseling and it is not therapy.
Never disregard professional advice, and never delay seeking it, because of something you read here. Never stop or change a prescribed treatment based on anything the companion says. If you are struggling with your mental health, please speak to a qualified professional as well — the companion will encourage you to do exactly that.
In an emergency
If you are in immediate danger, or you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, please stop reading and contact your local emergency services now, or a crisis line in your country.
This app cannot call for help on your behalf. It cannot detect an emergency reliably, it cannot reach anyone, and it may be unavailable exactly when you need it. Crisis resources are listed inside the app and in the footer of every page, including findahelpline.com, which lists services for most countries.
Age
You must be at least 13 years old to use He Hears. If you are under 18, please use it with the knowledge of a parent or guardian.
Using it fairly
Please do not use He Hears to harm, harass, deceive, or manipulate anyone; to generate content presented as divine revelation or as the words of a real religious figure; to attempt to bypass its rate limits or safety instructions; or to scrape, resell, or run automated bulk requests against it.
Rate limits exist because each AI response costs real money and the app is free. If you hit one, the Bible reading, search, and saved verses all keep working.
Different Christian traditions
He Hears is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for any denomination, church, or religious organization. Where Christian traditions read a passage differently, the companion is instructed to say so and to represent the major views fairly rather than to settle the question for you.
Bible translations
The translations offered in this app are in the public domain: the King James Version, the Bible in Basic English, and the World English Bible. You are free to read, quote, and share those texts.
No warranty, and limits on liability
He Hears is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, theologically sound, or suitable for your situation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app or from reliance on anything it generates. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
